Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron FAQ/Walkthrough

Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron FAQ/Walkthrough

This FAQ/Walkthrough is for Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron, a PlayStation Portable (PSP) action game that feels like a first-person shooter (FPS). This guide will walk you through the Single Player Campaign mode in the Elite difficulty level. This guide is also helpful if you’re playing the Normal difficulty level. Now, let’s begin our campaign at our first map, Yavin 4. Although the map serves as a hands-on tutorial for the ground battles, I will point out some nuances of the game that will help you in later maps.
In this mission, you start with only one spawn point, the Rebel Base Upper Level. Just select it. Now use the analog stick to move toward the yellow marker, which is in front of you. Moving the analog stick to the left or right will rotate your character counterclockwise or clockwise. And moving the analog stick up or down will move your character forwards or backwards. Next, we will learn how to use the L button. Hold it down to sprint, and tap it to jump. After this, a Recon Droid will appear. Hold down the R button to lock onto it, and hold down the X button to shoot at it until it dies. Your shots will automatically move towards the current lock-on position.

Now that we’ve learn some basic maneuvers, let’s learn some basic game mechanics. Secure the temple by capturing the command post. You do this by being near enough to the command post such that the gauge at the right side of the screen appears and fills up with blue. When it fills completely, you have captured the command post. Now it’s time to get out of here.

Although you can’t simply walk out of the temple, the game shows you a big hole from which you can escape. But you need to use a Jet Pack. To equip this, stay near the command post and push the up directional button. This will take you to the “Equipment and Attributes” screen. To add the Jet Pack to your equipment, select Special Item, then push the up or down direction buttons to highlight the Jet Pack. Select it to equip it and press the Back button. Now you should see a yellow ring where the big hole is located. Double tap the L button to activate the Jet Pack. Push the circle button to move up and the triangle button to move down. Move up quickly, though, since your Jet Pack can only be used for a short period of time as indicated by the gauge at the bottom-left corner of the screen. All that’s left now is to move towards the yellow marker on the door panel to open up the main temple door.

We’re not done yet! We’ll go into more of the basics of ground combat in the next part.
